Silverlight, a FLASH/AJAX competitor?

i don't know what to say about this but i did gave a try out of curiosity after stumbling this app from microsoft.

this is how microsoft would say about this new app they have:

Microsoft® Silverlight™ is a cross-browser, cross-platform plug-in for delivering the next generation of .NET based media experiences and rich interactive applications for the Web. Silverlight offers a flexible programming model that supports AJAX, VB, C#, Python, and Ruby, and integrates with existing Web applications. Silverlight supports fast, cost-effective delivery of high-quality video to all major browsers running on the Mac OS or Windows.

after downloading it, installed and restarting firefox (i hate restarting a browser, but thanks to firefox which gives me always an options to restore visited sites) a tried it. what you gonna think i would do?

i went to its website Silverlight and tried some showcase. hmmmm... interesting, because i thought i still have my flash menu when i right-click the mouse. not anymore because it's just one menu: SilverLight configuration. This is not flash really. i'm just making sure it isn't flash. it works the same as of the adobe flash plugins.

i tried technation.com.my. and bang, again it ask for a plugin. so downloaded a silverlight alpharefresher. installed the same way like my first installation of the plugin and of course restart again. :) grrrr....

all i can say, go on. at least there's something new that is happening especially an application like flash that has no competitor for so long time. :)

nice one!
