Gmail IMAP Access? can't get through.

I've been using Gmail email as a secondary to my Yahoo! Mail Plus account and what i like most of it is that i can read and compose emails offline, if you have a Premium account with Yahoo and if you use Gmail POP Access with your client email application.

So far, if you use Gmail and use your email application to fetch new emails, probably you are using the Gmail POP Access settings. This settings can be set in you Gmail account and by following the guides relative to your email application. But POP settings drawback is that you can sync your messages throughout your devices, this is where IMAP access has its power.

Gmail now offers IMAP Access free. i thought this was not true because when you go in your gmail account, you can't find any IMAP settings. This was where some blogs before talks about of it was really true the Gmail is offering it.

But today, i didn't check my Gmail account settings anymore, i just add straight a new account in my Apple mail and configure the IMAP settings. after all the guides i got from here.

At first, i'm having a hard time connecting, but it did smoothly along the way. Of course, synchronizing for the first will take a while due to large emails that i have. If you want to see if you have an IMAP with your Gmail, check your Gmail account and under the Settings, the Forwarding/POP has been changed to Forwarding/POP/IMAP. IMAP is enabled by default.

Viva Google!
