FireFox Extension: Google Browser Sync

Yesterday I blogged about the beauty of having firefox portable in your USB disk. However, in my laptop i have bookmarks and settings that are important to me everytime i have to go online.

I don't want that i have to copy my laptop firefox everytime just to synchronize the datas on it.

But late last night i was able to find a FireFox extension that is a solution to what i wanted. I found Google Browser Sync.

Google Browser Sync

How to Use

To use Google Browser Sync, simply install and configure the extension on all computers for which you'd like your browser settings automatically kept in sync. Even if you only install Browser Sync on a single computer, you can use it to backup your browser settings and to restore your open tabs and windows across browser sessions.

Configuring your computers

After successfully downloading and installing the extension, then restarting your browser, you'll see a setup wizard. (Please note that you'll need a Google Account to complete the setup process; if you don't already have a Google Account, you can create one now.) The setup wizard will take you through a series of quick and easy steps. You'll need to choose which browser components you'd like to keep synchronized with your other computers (the standard install includes all possible components), and choose a PIN to protect your sensitive information.

Configuring your second computer is even easier. You only need to install the extension, log in with your Google Account username and password, and provide your PIN.

Day-to-day use

Google Browser Sync is completely automated. The settings you select at startup are automatically synchronized across each of the computers on which you install Browser Sync. You won't even need to log in every time you start the browser. You can change which browser components are being synced – or even stop the syncing process entirely – using the settings panel in the upper-right corner of the page. The settings panel also gives you access to your PIN.

Google Browser Sync

So you don't have to worry about your firefox settings.

Foods: Macky's Gril - Now OPENS!

Hmmmm.. food again.

Hey, i got invited to have free dinner at the NEW Macky's Grill along ilustre st. Davao City. I don't know a lot of adjectives to describe foods or how delicious the food was. But i'm telling you, its worth the treat. I like eating outside especially where good and great foods are served. I think Macky's Grill deserves that place too.

Macky's Grill, Ilustre St., DAvao City, Philippines

They offer foods for lunch and dinner. They have ihaw-ihaw (it's "grill" in english) lols and they served ala carte also for your own delightful choices.

So if you can come by to this new place, come at Macky's Grill, ILustre St., (beside Chikkachat Internet Cafe), DAvao City.

You are very welcome!

Portable Apps: FireFox... I just love this

I'm using FireFox portable in my laptop. Instead of getting the installer to have it stick into my system, i think its far more better for me to just use the portable edition.

I'm always with my laptop wherever i go. But today, the thing is not in my side and im here at chikkachat internet cafe browsing. Then i remembered that before i went out this afternoon going downtown, i copied the portable browser into my usb stick. So spending already here for an hour before i noticed that i have it my stick.

So I stuck it behind the back panel and run it from my usb. It loads so slowly at first, only at first, but its worth that when i saw the splash intro and seeing all my firefox extension i was happy. Literally i smiled to myself. Whew, this is easy. Because i managed to FTP to my servers without remembering a password and i have all my RSS Feeds with me to get updated with the latest.

So if i am you, you can use portable apps. Like the portable, FREE browser, the Firefox and the free portable edition of GIMP also. its like photoshop, but its guilt FREE because its REALLY A FREE Software.

YOu can download portable Applications here that you put with your USB Flash disk, http://www.portableapps.com

Blogging with a pocket pc

lm lying right now. very tired. physically & mentally tired. anyway....

i'm blogging right now using my pocket pc. just testing if this really will work. but its working. l'm using pocket blog, a free software. at first l'm having problem retrieving my blog list but after changing the blogger api address from plant.blogger.com to blogger.com, finally l was able to get my list.

using my bluetooth internet connection, then i can just update my blogger. actually i have a wifi at home and my h6365 has a wifi connection too but i don't know why l can't connect. It cannot detect any presence of a wifi enabled network. my pocket pc firmware is already updated. after googling pages still wasn't able to find anything good but the same problems.

anyway, if you have a pocket pc you can blog by using the pocket blog at pocketblog.com and install it. Then if you do have already a connection to the internet, then you can just update your blog online.

Update: The only problem is that, the pocket pc blog don't have anyfield for the blog title. So i have to go online via my laptop just to update the title and label my blog that was uploaded via my pocket pc.

blogger takes so long to load...

Everytime I have to write a new blog it takes too long to load this blogger composer... i don't know why.. seems like a lot of things is to load..

I havn't get blogged since yesterday... been busy with my girl. Of course have to give time for everything... if i do have time for my computer, then i should have time for my girl. So nothing will come in between. lols... it just that i have to.

I got a bad running nose today. Its like water is just coming out of my nose and its so annoying that you have to have something in your hand in case it will flow. And it flows unconsciously. lols... really bad. hope this won't last 'til tomorrow because tomorrow gonna be busy.

Tomorrow we will start to run logistics and errands for the Amigoas Internet Cafe. So things will get change tomorrow especially my daily routines because i will gonna have another responsibility downtown. So i gonna make trips going downtown now unlike the past years that i just stay at home and work unless there are meetings.

But still i gonna update some new and featured items in the web. I will be getting more sources so i can blog it here..

Web: Desktop anywhere with Goowy

i was out this afternoon for a meeting with a friend about a new outsourced project and i didn't bring anything not even my laptop. After a meeting, seeing some friends and flying to 2 coffee shops i ended in Chikkachat internet cafe at ilustre. and while waiting for a friend and to kill time, i was reading the net for an online desktop and visited a site that awards web 2.0 websites. Try vising SEOmoz.org so you can get what are the best websites nowadays.

And I found this site. www.GOOWY.com. It's an online desktop that is like your windows desktop. It has features like checking your emails and RSS feeds from different sources and more features that might fit your net lifestyle. You can design it to whatever you wanted.

Goowy Online Desktop

I tried chatting through it using my Yahoo! account and was able to chat some friends also.

This online apps is a big help if you are in the internet cafe and especially if you really set it up that you can access your files and settings online.

With its box.net integration, you can save your files online too with a free 1GB of storage.

Goowy Online Desktop

The problem that i found so far is, it loads for a while but its worth while your away from home.

But if you will ask me if i have to use this, partially YES and Partially NO. But if i get home, i will setup my goowy so if i'm away, i can have many options. lols.

Web: ALARMD

Want some good stuff today?

Why don't you have a break but before doing so, get this web running first in your browser. Go to http://www.zachleat.com/Projects/alarmd/ or click here.

A browser alarm clock.

ALARMD

You can have now a big digital clock in your desktop plus the alarm functionality. The alarm is so nice that you can set it to whatever sound you would like. You can even have your own youTube videos play when you want to alarm it. Just add the YouTube video address and then make it as your alarm sound.

ALARMD

You can change the Digital clock size and its color and very handy. Why? because where ever you are you can have this as long as you have the browser with you. lols.

FireFox Ext: BackUp Extension with FEBE

hmmm... sounds like the girl back in high school. Lols.

Did you have an experience where you have all the firefox extensions installed already then you lost all of them because you reinstall your system? I did have that, almost twice plus one. I like to have extensions (a lof of it) installed in my firefox. This makes my life easier. YEs makes my net routines very easy. So like what i do with my files and all of us do, i want to keep them so i don't have to go back into mozilla websites again and again, search plus to download and to reinstall whenever i lost them. So to make it easier, I looked for an extension to do it. Happily, i found FEBE and i fall in love to FEBE.

I use FEBE from time to time. Like when I installed a new extension or when an extension get updated. FEBE stands for Firefox Extension Backup Extension. It's a utility to keep your extensions intact in one place so that when you mess up, you can just install it again and then restore all your backed-up extensions in one place.

Firefox Extension: FEBE

FEBE backs up your extensions (both enabled and disabled), themes, and (optionally) your bookmarks, preferences, passwords, cookies and just about everything else Firefox offers (it can even backup/restore your entire profile). You can schedule it also to whenever you want FEBE will backup automatically.

Actually i don't have to talk about this since the information is available here:
FEBE.

I'm just telling the world what i extensions i used. At least tested on my part. lols..

Projects: Aweoc & OttoSystem Updates

Today i was just working with my 2 projects. The E-commerce of Ottosystems, Inc and and new layout for the AWEOC Website.

After presenting 3 website layouts to an overseas clients finally we got an approval of the final template. I've been working with the AWEOC backend for almost 6 months already and they want to to change now the layout. I get a friend of mine to do the layout and graphics for me and the old backend will still be used.

With regards to the Ottosystems. Inc, website i added some products (unique products) that really required tweaking the database and its shopping cart. I made my own shopping cart for this website last feb 2007. It's very unusual because every product has different attributes that is really very important. They sell hoists and parts that i'm not very familiar with its industrial value and even don't know how the products looks like. Unlike with these upcoming new project (still an E-commerce) it will just be easy because the products are only T-shirts, shoes and the like.

Davao HotSpots: Sychar Hotel

I'm writing this blog here inside the Sychar Hotel where i can have access to the WiFi for free. But of course if i have to decide, i will not be here but only for meetings especially if i have to meet with the DGD groups (my group in Real Estate selling, www.islandgalore.com).

Anyway, if you want more of a convenient, comfortable and FREE access to internet, then Sychar hotel is a good choice also. It's not hot and not so many people go here. Only people with business to each other go and have meetings use the hotel facility.

I was here many times already and where served with good foods. They offer also coffee but not as good as those coffee shops.

But this place in comparison to other hotels that i've been and have access with the internet, Sychar is cheaper. Insular hotel costs 100.00 per hour using the Globequest captive portal and Marcho polo at almost 300.00 per hour with only the same services that Insular hotel is offering.

So if you want it simple and not cheap but FREEE, Sychar is a place to be.

Located at J.P. Laurel Ave., infront of Landco Bldg and just adjacent to the new Bajada Jolibee.

WEb: SixPli.com

Love being delicious? lols... i love del.icio.us

If you don't know what is DEL.ICIO.US at http://del.icio.us, it is a social bookmarking website where you can share publicly the websites that you bookmarked.

In my own case i use firefox extension to automatically login and post to del.icio.us the websites that i bookmarked. Bookmarking is a very good habit of keeping the addresses of the webpages that you found very helpful in the future or so that you will not lost the website address or to put it very easy, you website address book.

Wherever you are you can just login to del.icio.us and view the bookmarked that you have.

I found this in the internet. I wish to try this in my del.icio.us account but the release is still on its alpha stage. the website is: http://sixpli.com

SixPli
SixPli
SixPli

What it does is to visualize your bookmarks and its related tags to each other. It has 3 modes to visualize your del.icio.us contents like the elastic net 3D view, elastic net 2D view and the circles 2D view.

Give it a try, but they only used a default account.

Microsoft Surface Unveils!

Want to see the future in collaboration?

I might say that this will not be but more future will come when it comes to team collaboration?

But so far, this is what i found out with microsoft. Started in year 2001, the microsoft team dreams of putting the ideas in one table. That's the concept behind meeting and collaboration. We do all have ideas that if we can't tell the world, others will. so this computing will put it into practice.

Minority Report meets the kitchen table in the new Surface from Microsoft. Claiming that surface computing is "as significant as the move from DOS to GUI," the company today announced a tabletop device with an integrated 30-inch screen and five cameras to enable multitouch access to music, photos, the web, and more. According to Microsoft, Surface isn't simply a regular PC with a touch interface—it's a whole new category of computing device that will supplement rather than replace traditional machines. We talked with Microsoft about the concept and what's powering it.

Foods: The BreakFast Club

"They only met once, but it changed their lives forever."

No.no. no. I'm not talking about the 1985 teen movie "Breakfast Club" where they spend each weekends in school for detention.

I'm talking about food. I'm talking about the fastfood counter where you can order a food to eat. Yes the name is sounds-like, look-like and even spell-like the movie title. The BreakFast Club.

BreakFast Club along Ponce St. cor Guererro St., Davao City

The breakfast club counter is just around the ponce st. corner guererro st., in davao city. It is just ordinary but foods where served great. They offer breakfast menus like the famous bacon show.... lols.. the breads, sandwiches, longganiza tocino and more. and they have beverages too and a vendo-nescafe. prices are cheap. Yes cheap and worth every penny.

compare to other fastfood counter, you can surf the web too because they have a wifi and they are offering it for FREE. I like FREE stuffs. All you have to do is bring some cash buy some food and bring your desktop! opppsss not that big but your big laptop.

The other thing is the atmosphere is cool! I am there most of the time during dinner. Breakfast is served also during dinner time.

the same tagline from the movie, "They only met once, but it changed their lives forever" can be applied also to this store. It can change your lives too!

They are open from morning ti'll 12pm and all day in the week. So if you need fast food especially breakfast menu, try joining the BreakFast Club!

I will add more pictures if i can visit there again.

WEb: CNN.com got a facelift.

If you are a news online reader, like i do, you know already what CNN is. if you have a cable channel and when it comes to international news you go to CNN channel.

just lately while browsing CNN website, i noticed a link to their beta website.

http://beta.cnn.com

Its far more organized than the old website. So far the big difference that i noticed is on their online videos. You can watch their videos now using flash (the old one uses media player or quicktime). But unlike youtube flash videos that you can embed the video to your blog, in CNN you cannot do this.

here is the screenshot of the homepage of both the old and the beta version:

Website: Yahoo!Photos will be OUTta soon

I will not be bother if they will since i have flickr already (yahoo! own it also).

But you know what, i have photos there also. I was already using Yahoo! Photos before, like year 2000, and until now there are still old photos of me there... hmmm.... how does i look 5 years ago? Even before the rise of PhotoBucket, yahoo!Photos was there already offering 35MB of space to each account of your own.

It's sad... and why i have to. If yahoo! itself will close, i will not be bother..opps i forgot, i have my email address there and 2 of my domains. Closing of yahoo! not now.

Yahoo photos will be closing officialy on sept 20, 2007.

Yahoo!Photos is closing

I don't know why?

So if you have photos there, you can sign in (http://photos.yahoo.com) and start moving your pictures to the website your prefer (Flickr is the default), because if you will not all will be deleted after the official closing date.

There are choices to where you want to move it like PhotoBucket, Kodak Gallery, ShutterFly and SnapFish. or if you prefer to keep it locally, there is an option to just download it.

I move mine to my fave flickr.com already.

See this video and arrange everything in your house after you watch!

Not applicable for me since i don't put anything in my desktop. I run programs in the run command. so if you are keeping everything out to your desktop, this video will give a future for your desktop.

then....

sigh! thanks God. there still hope.

Under Lab: Microsoft PhotoSynth Tech Preview

want to try something beyond?

I think this software embedded into a browser is beyond what we have now. I found this stuff while watching a tv online and showcasing the best ideas for computers.

It is called PhotoSynth made by Microsoft Live Labs. I installed the Tech Preview.

"The Photosynth Technology Preview is a taste of the newest - and, we hope, most exciting - way to view photos on a computer. Our software takes a large collection of photos of a place or an object, analyzes them for similarities, and then displays the photos in a reconstructed three-dimensional space, showing you how each one relates to the next.

In our collections, you can access gigabytes of photos in seconds, view a scene from nearly any angle, find similar photos with a single click, and zoom in to make the smallest detail as big as your monitor."

Our software takes a large collection of photos of a place or an object, analyzes them for similarities, and displays them in a reconstructed three-dimensional space.

With Photosynth you can:

* Walk or fly through a scene to see photos from any angle.
* Seamlessly zoom in or out of a photo whether it's megapixels or gigapixels in size.
* See where pictures were taken in relation to one another.
* Find similar photos to the one you're currently viewing.
* Send a collection - or a particular view of one - to a friend.

FOSS: Democracy Player 0.9.6

I just love this free software.

Yes, i like (not love) youTube, googleVideo and other video websites, but this one is really great. I don't have patience in waiting videos to load (it is a virtue to wait) nor i don't like to open a lot of windows or tabs just to load multiple websites and videos at the same time and leaving my PC hanging for a time.

So this stuff really gives me what i wanted to do. Democracy player (former name is Miro Player) plays everything! It can play online videos from youTubes and etc., and it can also plays videos from you collection and the best of all, watch online TV through it.

It has hundreds of online TV channels and you can select it via Popular, Featured or if you are searching for keywords, use the Tag tabs to look for your preferred video.

While I'm working i can let the player download the videos that i wanted to view and it will just download while in the background. I don't have to open websites anymore. It saves the videos to my local PC and it will just be deleted automatically if its getting old already.

Firefox Ext: fotoFox

I love pictures. I love taking them with my nokia 3250 and collec them using my nokia lifeblog. Aside from the nokia shots, i have thousands of pictures since the start of amigoas. All amigoas events and eyeballs are there.

Collecting them offline is good but i want to share it to the world especially to those people who keep asking for copies of their virtual faces.

So i look for a good online photo management tools. there are PhotoBucket, Piccasa and my fave, Flickr. I started to upload pictures via flickr upload tools but it takes time for a thousand of photos since you can upload only one by one.

To ease the uploading, I'm using a fireFox extension, fotoFox. Sitting right beside the browser (fireFox sidebar), you can directly browse your collection and add the selected,i say multiple photos, titled and tagged them then upload it to flickr. very easy and convenient tool if you have a premium account with flickr. i do have a premium account so i can upload to unlimited number of images.

Download it via firefox extension website, install and restart firefox. When firefox restarted, goto View > Sidebar > fotoFox. The first thing you have to do is to give permission for fotoFox to use your flickr account. This is done when you first run fotoFox. when you're done, start adding and uploading your photos.

fotoFox supports mulitple online photo management website. so you don't have to be a flickr member just to use it. It supports photoBucket.

by then way, if you don't have a flickr account, you can sign in by using your yahoo!Mail account. for free account, you can upload only of up to 200 photos and 20mb per day upload.

YouTube launches Remix: Video Editing Online

When visiting your favorite website, don't forget always to read the developer's blog and the updates. its from there you will get what is new in the website.

In the case of YouTube (everybody loves youTube), they have a new online tool, an ONline Video Editing tool called Remixer. It is powered by the Adobe.

Remixer makes your uploaded video be edited online, wherever you are. Based on adobe Flash and youTube easy to use website tools and its friendliness, i think this tool is very easy and it has a help button located at the top right corner and an online demo for a sample of every move you wanted to do.

if you have videos uploaded in YouTube, you can directly edit the uploaded video by going to your Videos (My Videos) and click the button "Remix Video"

I tried it. I can be good or bad with video editing, but since i know how to us windows video editing tools, things goes smoothly with me. But learning using the remix is very easy. When you're done editing and previewing it you can publish, put titles, description and tags and it will be compile directly to your 'Remixed Video' folder. The comment so far that i have is, you cannot animate the graphics.

The only thing that i don't like with online tools and flash is its loading thing... lols.. since we are located in the not so fast country, then patience is a virtue.

for me, why bother to edit it online if doing it offline is a wiz.

Try it now! The link: http://youtube.com/ytremixer_about

Flickr: Testing blogging with Derek

Cute Derek, originally uploaded by dennes abing.

isn't he's cute? this was taken when i went home to cast my vote for the May 14, 2007 election. We visited my grandpas burial site.

In the photo is Derek, my nephew.

This blog was done using flickr blogs. you can do this by signing to flickr services and click on photos and blog it directly from flickr to your blogger or to any blog site.

A very good tool since i have almost 3000 pictures inside flickr and more pictures to browse.

Starting my day...

Im a normal ordinary person. I live a day and end it sleeping. Thanking God and people who made my day and looking at it not to say goodbye but learning why i made those decision.

To start day in my computer life, i always woke up at 10:00 am in the morning. Yes, 10 am that when i woke up everybody left me already. Most of my contact knows that time. Only if they call me for emergency meeting or scheduled meeting then i wake up earlier than 10.

Daily programs

The first thing i do is not brushing and not even washing my face, but turn on my laptop and run my emails. I use outlook 2003 for my Yahoo! mail (I have premium account), Gmail accounts and all my emails. (I have almost 20 emails from different domains). When downloading begins i start my Firefox and run my morning coffee (Firefox Extension). Morning coffee loads my favorite daily websites. These are ClipMarks.com, Google Reader and iGoogle. Then read what is interesting. And finally read and reply to emails that are important.

Then they day starts when i finish refreshing myself by running programs like Dreamweaver and Photoshop then afterward a little database using a Navicat (all three softwares that i use were all cracked version, it just too expensive for now) then along the way i use Notepad++ for some scripting also.

And finally i work whole day till its time to sleep.

Since i'm back into blogging (I have a yahoo!360 and typepad account before), along the day i blog (or will continue to blog) whatever i stumble and come across during my work and reading.

Safari in Firefox

Safari with Firefox

Yesterday i blog about the browser Safari in Windows. Just a while ago in my LifeHacker website through my Google Reader (my preferred RSS Reader), you can make Safari through Firefox. So if you want to go through reading it here is the link.

http://lifehacker.com/software/how-to/get-safaris-best-features-in-firefox-268691.php

and here is a good comparison of the 3 most commonly used browsers today:

http://blog.wired.com/monkeybites/2007/06/wired_news_benc.html

Still, i prefer to have the full safari software in my computer. Having it, actually, doesn't hurt anything.. :)

Amigoas internet cafe?

Soon!

Amigoas Internet Cafe coming Soon!

Yes! Sooon...! its true amigoas will have its own internet cafe.

For almost a year of preparation and meeting with people who really care and wanted to invest for us, amigoas internet cafe will soon be open in the middle of July along Gen. Luna St., near GS Gaisano South. We should have open amigoas earlier to match its launching date in June 2004 unfortunately due to some reasons we cannot.

Since the start of amigoas (http://amigoas.com), and as the creator of the FIRST Social Community website in Davao city, we dreamed that someday amigoas will have its place. And now that dream is coming to reality.

With the initiatives of some people, the fun will continue.

Amigoas.com is still online but soon after the launching of the cafe, we will be working of integrating the website membership to cafe accounts so we can apply the rankings and point system that we have before. We might start all over.

Amigoas internet cafe or amigoas iNet cafe will serve mostly students for their research and internet needs. We will not offer games to gaming commnity but only to students and internet users to give them a special place where they can have comforts and place to study.

Watch out for the opening and updates of the cafe here as we don't have yet a definite day in July

For the Amigoas Cafe updates, just visit this blog often or type in your browser my name and add .com. its like, dennesabing.com

If you have an RSS Reader subscribe to my feeds: http://feeds.feedburner.com/mydennesabing.

if you don't have or don't know any RSS Reader you can start one by using Google Reader at http://google.com/reader and subscribe to my feedburner feeds.

Firefox Ext: fireFTP

What i like with mozilla firefox is its ability to push it capability beyond the reason why it was made. It was made for browsing! yes it is intended to browse the internet until all hyperlink in in the billion pages is browsed.

Being a web developer you need to upload files to remote server to be able to update your website. You have to use an FTP client to be able to transfer file remotely. Before i use smartFTP and WSTftp and all of them were cracked version. To ease the guilt of using software illegally (at least im starting to be fair to those who sell and i dont want to be hypocrite telling kids that stealing is a crime, my windows xp is a license fyi! lols) i look for alternatives or free softwares. yes there are but this mozilla extension is above them all. fireFTP is an FTP client that you can install to your firefox. very easy to use and simple. you don't have to have another application runs in your system and eat precious memory. In my case i want to free space in my taskbar. This extension really helps save some space.

Mozilla extension: fireFTP

You can run the extension directly from the Tools menu of firefox, but you have to have mozilla browser and installed it as an extension.

download fireFTP from here: Download fireFTP from MOzilla Extension websites

Wirelessly with a HP iPaq h6365

Just 2 days ago i got a pocket pc from kuya rheo.

High Temp in Laptop makes one weak!

A week ago i woke up with a twisted left-index finger. It was a painful day for me that until now it hurts and i really feel it when i type. I thought i had a bad sleep a night before that. I just learned it today that it has something to do with my work as well as my laptop.

Yes they told me not to wash my hands right after i work. I missed that point!

I work whole day using my laptop with no mouse. I do graphics in my laptop with only the touchpad and im good at it. I dnt have problem with it. As hours goes by, the machine will emit high temp like all machines does if you are using them. They started to get hot.

You will notice that when you type, you rest your hand near the touchpad. My laptop is an HP ze2000 that the harddisk is just right below my left wrist. The heat of it goes up into my hand, especially the left hand.

Hope that laptop maker will notice this and that they will do something of the heat that the laptop produce. They can actually place the harddrive or processor at the top of the laptop and not near the hands.

My work is the same to those programmers / gamers that they grab the keyboard the wholeday. But the difference is that my keyboard produced heat that goes to my hands.

Just to advice you guys, don't wash your hands right after you work with typing, especially if you use laptops.

Going SAFARI with Windows!

I was browsing through Apples website today reading news and browsing product page. And suddenly i was surprised, not a dream come true but a suggestion come true, a SAFARI Browser for windows.

I love browsers and i want them all in my computers, not to collect them but a part of my work. When i am developing websites, i dont have to look at it with firefox only because i love firefox (Firefox is my default browser) but looking at my projects in different rendering browsers.

Safari for Windows

A year ago i develop a website for my YWAM Organization. And the website is good. The organization is composed of international people. They also have a Digital School and most students use Mac computers and they seldom us Windows computers. My problem is the website behaves differently in Mac Safari and also the website was developed with AJAX Support. So when we tried to view the site using mac, it turned out that the website was really a total wreck especially the administration that has full AJAX Support.

So this Safari for Windows is a big help for me before launching a website by checking it with Safari browser.

The Safari for Windows Beta has support for tabbed browsing also.

So we don't need mac computers anymore just to use Safari Browser. Download the browser at www.apple.com download section.

page shots with BrowserShots.org

Since April of 2007, i started to see my websites in different browsers, both old and newer versions. I only have IE7 and FireFox 2.0 in my computer and the two were the most commonly used browsers in the windows arena.

Considering a worldwide audience and with different computer settings, browsers and different operating systems installed on those web visitors i have to be prepared that the webpages that i made are viewable and display properly.

http://browsershots.org/ is a one in all utility that i can see my webpages in all the browsers available. Very handy that you only have to submit a one page or your index page and the browsershots.org will output it in different screenshots from different browsers both new and old versions.

so handy for CSS developers like me.

Ple Min Yo No!

This sign is from Chikachat Internet cafe also. we read this as "Ple Min Yo No". If we are noisy already inside, someone will say, "Ple min yo no" and everybody will get it.

It becomes Ple Min Yo No because of the firsts syllables of the 4 words of PLEase MINimize YOur NOise or those letters/syllables that are in color GREEN.

i don't use my touchpad most of the time when i have to run a program. my computer was setup to run programs when i type commands in the RUN console or even in the DOS shell. like, when i press Windows + R (Start > Run), then i type "notes", then it launched my favorite and advance notepad which is the notepad++;

here is the screenshot when i press Start:

here is the screenshot when i press Start

as you see there are no programs defined in my Start programs.
what i do when i want to launch an internet browser, i pressed

windows key + R, then type "internet", and it will launch the Internet Explorer.

windows key + R, then type

the steps will guide you on how to setup your programs to run when you type your custom shortcut/windows commands in the RUN window.

In this example we want to have a shortcut for your Internet Explorer browser by just typing, the word "internet" in the Run window

First, you have to make a directory. wherever you put it, name it to whatever you wanted.

example is "shortcut" in Drive D. (mine is in Drive D, you can put it also in you Drive C or wherever as long as you know the whole path or shortcut of the folder)

<br />example is

Go to C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer, right-click the iexplore, the select Create Shortcut. It will automatically create a shortcut file name "Shortcut to iexplore" by default.

Go to C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer, right-click the iexplore,

It will automatically create a shortcut file name

rename the file from "Shortcut to iexplore" to "internet" and right-click the file and select copy;

rename the file

Then go to your newly created Shortcut directory (in this tutorial is in D:\Shortcut); right-click and select Paste or CTRL+V (a shortcut for pasting objects from the clipboard).

right-click and select Paste or CTRL+V

Lastly, go to your Control Panel > System > then go to the ADVANCE Tab
and a pop up will open, click on the "Environment Variables" button and double-click PATH in the "System Variables" and with the default value, add this line in the end of the Variable value: D:\Shortcut and RESTART your computer.

Dennes B Abing

Append D:\Shortcut

Note: DON'T DELETE THE CURRENT VALUE, BUT JUST APPEND IN THE LAST LINE OF THE VARIABLE VALUE. Just follow the instruction and you will be safe.

Thats all. if you want to try, Press Start > Run Command > then type "Internet" or "internet"
