AYDP First Batch Update: Going deeper, be our Guest!

It's our 4th day of tutorial at the Amigoas iCafe and we are going deeper and codes are going harder. Harder because it's the first time that this students face this kind of coding. It's easy actually, but eventhough hardpressed through hard coding, the students survive the first application, the PHP Guestbook.

Here are some pictures and their first PHP Application. This screenshots are not their final work yet. I just let them do the Add/Edit and Delete processes of the MySQL using the PHP. Their final work today is to layout a 2-column page using their first PHP Application that is w3c valid and using only CSS in their design.

Amigoas Youth Development Program

This week we just started the Amigoas Youth Development Program (AYDP) with topics like PHP/MySQL/CSS. For the first batch we have 10 students already. For a start, we can only accommodate 10 students and we are praying that we can have more students to come for the next batch. The cost of the training is Php 1,500.00 with a total of 40 hours of in-depth technical and hands on training. We meet 8 hours a day from 8 in the morning ti'll 5 in the afternoon. I know for sure that it is vacation, so the selected students are really free.

We currently used FREE softwares. For coding we use the Notepad++, the MySQL for the database, the PHP and video resources. Unfortunately, I don't discuss much about basics, but I have videos that I gave to students for them to watch so they can learn the basics. So when you want to join with us, be sure that you already know about computers and that you have a background about HTML or making of webpages.

Each student has each own computer unit so he/she can try and have a hands for coding. With the first 10 batch, we didn't let them pay for the tutorial fee, instead we shoulder the fee by tapping people who can sponsor a student. Thanks God that there are really good hearted people that He used to provide a help for the student. The training is currently being held at Amigoas internet cafe.

AYDP December Brochure

I'm planning to start the next batch on January 7, 2008. So if you want to learn in-depth and get your hands on hard-coding with PHP and CSS and MySQL, give us a call and we will be willing to help you on what we can do. Registration for the next batch is now open. Numbers are 222 3115 and 09194991541.

Here are some of the pictures. Thanks for Christopher Cubos of Fwendz Diner for the maja blanca and for the shots.

My cool sites in 2007

2007. Yes it's 2007 that I earned more knowledge when it comes web development. This a year of challenge. A challenge that I have to face and win when it comes to what i love to do. It was this year that I changed my way of structuring my website from using CSS to proper PHP syntax. This was not because they came to me by surprise but by no choice, its a good and better way to improve my skills. The following list are not in their ranking but only in the category and usefulness on how I looked and used them.

To start it, it's more of communication! Emails.... and Gmail win over my old Yahoo! account. For a 5 year old Yahoo!Mail account, I prefer to use Gmail POP3 capability and recently its IMAP application over everything. The only basic that I can say to this is, i don't need to be online to re-read my emails but wherever I am, Gmail IMAP synchronize it for me.

Follow on this is the Mozilla Web Developer plugins. Nothing more beats this plugin inside the great firefox. No need for another memory-greedy apps. This includes the FireFTP plugins. Plugins makes Firefox the best and most useful application on my daily basis when it comes to development.

Second to this that I recently got explored is the NotePad++. I've already used this text editor program before, but Dreamweaver win over during the old times. But when fairness cames into my mind, its a good idea and always a better idea to use guilt-free softwares. Still i'm not free to this guiltiness, but i'm going there to use the free-apps that somebody made for everybody to be free.

Another thing is the FireFox RSS Bookmark. I think 2007 is the year of RSS. It's because most websites really have RSS Feeds for easy reading and knowing what's new and cool. Some of the best RSS, in my category is TECH and web, is LifeHacker, Digg, in the news is Inquirer and the PHP RSS Feeds. A lot of RSS. My list complement each other so i can't name what is best or good among the PHP. I think, if somebody really have to force me, its php.net wins. No more answers follow. It just everything when it comes to php. oww... hehehe.. www.phpclasses.org also. sorry.

CSS has its name and reputations why i love its technology this 2007. Its not new this year, but this gaves me a break for web designing. no more to say against this, but it's just feels good. It gives me easy chores and maintenance.

And, if i have to say this, everything will not be fine or good if not for a MAC intel that i have 6 months ago. I just got stoked and changed my religion to this. Mac is just everything. It has everything to offer. I just got a black macBook and it just feels good. I though mac is just in the surface or for graphics but mac has a lot to offer under its hood. Mac is powerful. Is mac expensive? i will say, its just worth it.

The things and work that I do everyday are out of passions. They came from the inner nerves that keeps me running doing websites. There are more into this, i know for sure and that is for the 2008 to worry about it.

I love 2007 and i will love things that gonna happen in the coming year.

A happy new year to everybody.

This was a good try shooting images with my N73.. :) hope i can have more good shots... heheheh :) The image was edited using Apple Aperture program.

Where is me? lols

What's with the demonoid being down that even turn my blogging down for almost a month and a half? actually, there's no connection on being me so stubborn blogging in the last weeks on what happen with demonoid.

But everything is fine and fine... no other words to describe how i felt during those days. At least nobody was worried. Of course, i still have a good health and family and friends are still very strong in our relationships.

Since the last time i blog, i just keep visiting my blog and do nothing. It's because keeping my self having a log is not really my thing. I do have a poor memory remembering moments but this even doesn't lead me to having a diary. Yes, i do envy those people that keeps logging on a daily basis. I have my own way and my own style. I love moments and i do love keeping them, they're all inside my heart.

A lot of things happened and things that shouldn't be happening happened. Everything has its reason why it existed and why it should happen.

Soon, my cousin will be walking on his aisle.
